Severe obesity is a chronic condition that effects 650 million people worldwide. Various types of bariatric surgeries have become an option for those suffering from severe obesity and the serious health complications associated with obesity.

At Inmedita we aim to help patients who have struggled with and have not been able to lose weight by other means. These surgeries restrict food intake, resulting in weight loss and in some cases can even reduce the risk associated with obesity.

Bariatric surgeries change how food is digested, preventing lesser calories from being absorbed. It is also known that bariatric surgery may even lower death rates for patients with severe obesity. At Inmedita we help clients obtain the best results possible through surgery followed by diet control and routine exercise.

Gastric Sleeve

Sleeve gastrectomy, also known as vertical sleeve gastrectomy, is another surgical weight-loss procedure performed at our clinic. This procedure is typically performed laparoscopically, which involves inserting small instruments through multiple small incisions in the upper abdomen.

Gastric Bypass

Gastric bypass is a type of weight-loss surgery that involves creating a small pouch from the stomach and connecting the newly created pouch directly to the small intestine. After gastric bypass, swallowed food will go into the small pouch in the stomach and then directly into the small intestine, thereby bypassing most of your stomach and the first section of your small intestine.

Gastric Balloon

A gastric balloon is a newer weight-loss procedure.  Partner hospitals currently offer three options for the six month gastric balloon. This includes an air filled, saline filled and swallowable gastric balloon. All three balloons are the same procedure but vary by placement and material. The air filled and saline filled gastric balloons are place in your stomach by the surgeon at the hospital as an outpatient procedure.
